Music and Video by Michael Malarkey
Not surprisingly, Japan has been on my mind this week. I have lots of video footage from when I lived there last year and I felt I should do something with that. After stitching together a video of the Tsukiji Wholesale Fish Market I wasn’t totally satisfied. It’s a bit of a controversial area and the music that went along with it was kind of depressing. I felt I should make something slightly more celebratory of the good parts of Japan.
Eventually I found all my snow footage from last winter. I had made a video last winter of what it’s like driving the heavy snow of Niigata. I re-edited an old video I’d made and put some video of the post-thaw landscape. It’s a little shakey but that’s OK.
